Tuning Your Musical Brain
The human brain is more influenced from sound and music than any other sensory stimulus. Exposure to specific vocal sounds, healing instruments, or musical genres can activate a variety of brain regions. Research shows that musical trained individuals have enhanced cognitive abilities in many non-musical areas, such as language, verbal memory, mathematics, and spatial-temporal reasoning.
This course shows how a variety of sound and musical inputs can be used to stimulate different regions of the brain while activating specific patterns of brain activity. It's well known that different brainwave states, such as Beta, Alpha, and Theta, each correspond to a different facet of cognition and state of consciousness.
